The nostalgia of writing

Not much soothes me more than a blank notebook or journal in my hand. The feel of the crisp white pages, the smell of fresh ink and the anticipation of a long night's dream-inspiring scribing. I love making notebooks and journals - choosing from the many beautiful covers and page textures out there. Savoring each aspect of the process, I try to find one that just feels right for me. 

Everyone has a brand or style that speaks to them. For me, they're not the mass-produced big brands but rather the small, independent bookbinders both locally and internationally, whose style and character are subtly displayed in each stitch. There's something about notebooks and journals that makes me smile, I never get tired of writing in them. Maybe it's because of the scrapbook-esqe excitement you get from turning pages. No longer are you limited to a generic black journal; you can choose from the whole rainbow of colours. This isn't just an aesthetic triumph, but it's one that is important for feel good factor when writing in said journals and notebooks. 

Not having to worry about losing your train of thought as the glow of your computer screen washes your thoughts away is priceless.
